Find the tightest point
Measure doorways, stair width and landing space. Note fixed handrails and low ceilings at turns. Photograph from above and below so the route is clear. A wide front door does not help if the first turn is too tight.
Reduce furniture size where possible
Empty cupboards and check whether the furniture is designed to come apart. Keep parts together. Request disassembly help in advance; do not use moving day to experiment with glued joints.
Keep the route clear
Clear loose objects from stairs and allow doors to open. Do not block shared escape or walking routes with boxes. If furniture will not fit, stop and reassess instead of forcing it around a corner.
Request an estimate using photos
The calculator allows for floors without a lift but cannot assess stair geometry or item weight. Send photos for a specific estimate. An external moving lift is not included in our standard package.
