Empty it before moving day
Plan what to do with chilled and frozen food. Defrost the freezer compartment according to the manual and catch water. Pack loose glass parts so they cannot move or become damaged while being carried.
Include handles when measuring
Measure width, height and depth including parts that will remain attached. Check the route from the kitchen, not only the front door. Mention built-in installation or a water connection when requesting transport.
Transport position affects restart instructions
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for transport position and restarting. Do not apply one waiting time to every fridge. Bosch’s customer guidance, for example, distinguishes transport methods and points to appliance-specific instructions.
