Check the route inside the facility
Ask about loading space, lift dimensions, thresholds and distance to the unit. Access to the car park does not guarantee that large furniture will reach the unit door. Share the unit number, access hours and codes with the transport team.
Make an inventory you can use later
Number boxes and record contents in a separate list. Label the visible side. Keep small furniture parts with the piece and protect loose panels from sliding. A photo of the layout helps locate items later.
Keep necessary items accessible
Do not bury soon-needed items behind heavy furniture. Agree the loading order so the right boxes enter the unit last. Keep keys, documents and daily essentials outside storage.
Prepare dry contents and check the terms
Prepare furniture and appliances clean and dry. Follow the storage provider’s requirements for ventilation, permitted goods and insurance. Insurance during transport is different from coverage while stored.
